DARYA’S DREADFUL DILEMMA
or
“TO SAVE YOU, WHY MUST I KILL YOU?” (… Part II)
Cognescentii greetings, most honored reader!
Last week we saw the Grey Archer join up with Seth, Bryan, and Nikki to continue on their search and rescue mission for Darya. Unfortunately for them, it appears they will arrive too late as the Nosferatu have pushed Darya to the brink of making a most momentous decision: kill her beloved Lucretius and thus save him from an eternity (or at least a very long time) of existence as a vampire, or allow him to destroy her. Either way, House Nosferatu gets what it wants: an A+ star warrior gets added to the ranks of the Nosferatu.
But even if our friends, our “Terrific Trio,” plus their legendary archer friend along with the Thinker’s New Magic (a shiny new stone tank) do manage to get to the “Colosseum of Cruelty” in time (my name for the arena, not the vampires’), will even that be enough? After all, it is not just the two vampires our heroes need to worry about; in the stands are dozens if not hundreds of the Nosferatu’s allies: Goblins, Hobgoblins, Grocs, and Ogres, all filled with bloodlust and who I’m sure would like nothing better than to tear apart a loathsome Elf or two, a miserable little Dwarf, a couple of humans, and even a Swamp Man.
Unless of course, Gelmut and Anasha have a change of heart—but then vampires don’t have hearts, at least not the kind humans have. . . pretty grim odds, all in all. Please tune in with me next week, most honored reader, to see how our scenario plays out—gulp—if you dare…
With Cognescentii blessings,
