RIDDLES WRAPPED WITHIN ENIGMAS STUFFED WITH JUICY MYSTERIES…
or
MAGORIOUS’ MAJOR PLANS FOR ADVANCEMENT
Welcome again, most honored reader!
Now we see that Bordertown doesn’t just have a small crime problem, but a major infestation, enough to support several gangs all butting heads for control. As remarked of Bordertown’s problems with crime EARLIER:
“… the city continues with its perpetual hurly-burly of activity, for Bordertown is no longer the small provincial frontier town it once was. Now, flushed with capital, it has become a magnet for trade and manufacturing, attracting many new people to itself, not all of whom are necessarily honest or law abiding… For where there is wealth, there will always be inequity in its distribution, and thus there will always be crime—and Bordertown is no exception.”
In addition to Terminator and Madame Manhands (who–thank the One!—is wearing her mystical gloves of illusion!) we now have the other crime lords as well: Golem-Head (probably the leader of the local Half-Groc community) and this mysterious fellow going only by The Shot, a dead-eye with the hand crossbow. But whereas these gangs were content to live off the table scraps of the city before (you know, a little extortion payment, hold-ups, bribes, etc.), we have the ever still enigmatic Magorious (perhaps no longer quite so enigmatic) setting his sights on bigger game. Just how big?
Well, for Magorious to set as a mission the obtainment of the Finger of God and a Staff of the Cognescentii (which, as I have mentioned on more than one occasion is worth several times the GDP of this entire planet’s economy!) we have something tantamount to your local street gang trying to get their hands on a local ICBM (along with all its launch codes, support personnel, and missile silo to boot!) on your world. Just what in the Wyrld is Magorious up to?
Whatever it is, it definitely cannot be good for anyone. But perhaps The Shot will put an end of Magorious and this problem for us? Please tune in next week, most honored reader, to see. Until then—
With bountiful Cognescentii blessings,
