DWARVES: NOT JUST SHORT HUMANS: PART III
or
DWARF POWER TO THE RESCUE!
Greetings, most honored reader!
Ah, a mystery wrapped within a riddle rolled up in an enigma… my favorite! It would seem that Magorious’ ranks are riddled with spies (pun intended). This man, the Shot, was the spy all along. But as the Doppelganger asked, “For whom do you work?” It would appear it’s not the Iron Dragon (Nikki has that function).
Speaking of whom, would her own powerful Elvin telepathic defenses have been enough to counter a second scan by the Doppelganger? Luckily for her, she won’t have to find out. Enter the proverbial calvary—Bryan!—to the rescue!
I’ve said that Dwarves were strong, tough, tougher than humans (HERE, for instance), but now we finally see that toughness. Imagine a cross between a mini-bulldozer and a mountain ram. At 4′ 7″ and 225 lbs (some 300+ with armor, helmet, and hammer included), Bryan could push around even some of the strongest of humans, especially if he could pick up some speed as he did in today’s transmission.
To give you some idea of how Bryan would compare with humans, even strong humans, I’ve taken the liberty of comparing Bryan’s measurements with those of the “Most Perfectly Developed Man” of your era from your planet. Let’s see how they match up!
Height: 6’2″ Height: 4’7″
Weight: 260 lbs. Weight: 225 lbs.
Arms: 22″ Arms: 25″
Chest: 57″ Chest: 60″
Waist: 34″ Waist: 54″
Thighs: 28.5″ Thighs: 33″
Calves: 20″ Calves: 26″
As you can see, Bryan is thicker than even your most powerful of humans on your planet, built very much like one of those mini-frigs that were popular in your era. And make no doubt about it: he’s strong as a little bull too.
He’s going to need all of that strength and toughness in the moments ahead. In case he hadn’t noticed, he’s not only outnumbered, but some of his opponents aren’t exactly human—they’re monsters! Gulp!
Let’s see how he does next time, shall we? Until then, most honored reader,
With Cognescentii blessings,
~The Traveller
